Over the years…I have collected a list of all the most useful apps for me when taking a cruise. There are so many different types of apps developed just to put your mind at ease. So…without further ado….here are my Super 7 apps for your cruise!
1. Cruise Card Control
Now…if you haven’t booked a drinks package for your cruise (I strongly suggest you do!)…then you might be a bit shocked at the end of your cruise when you receive a nasty bill from all the cocktails you have drunk…well…that would be me! Cruise Card Control allows you to ensure you don’t overspend your (or your parents!) bank allowance and keep track of all your onboard & port expenses! This can vary from a packet of polos to a diamond necklace!
Seasickness can be the silent killer on cruises (although I have never personally experienced it!) and it can slowly become a nightmare. However…with Seasickness app you can control your steadiness by focusing on a virtual horizon displayed. If that’s not relaxing…what is!
3. Pack the Bag
Let’s be honest…no matter how organised you are…packing is the most stressful part of the year! There are mountains of things to go through and strangely you tend to keep losing everything you need. No need to fear…pack the bag app is here! With Pack the Bag app you can organised everything you need across 26 categories! But it doesn’t end there…you can even set personal reminded like find someone to feed the fish!
4. XE Currency App
On my first cruise…the thing I had to get my head around the most was the different currencies. After all…you are waking up in a different currency every single day! XE Currency App allows you to convert multiple currencies. What makes it even better is that it works offline…so data costs are no longer a problem!
5. White Noise Lite
Personally…I am a VERY light sleeper, which is why I always make sure I have this app on my phone whenever I am on a cruise…or just at home! It features over 9 different background sounds to help you get some beauty sleep including the sound of the sea of course! Although if you are in a balcony cabin…you might not need this!
This next app is INCREDIBLY popular…and the stats certainly prove it! Shipmate has been downloaded more than ONE MILLION times…and I can certainly see why! You can do many things with this app such as find out where your ship is, find out about shopping, excursions, get pictures and check out the ports of call! It is also a bit like a cruise version of Instagram, many users post daily onboard there cruise ship and you can chat with other fellow cruise lovers!
7. Cruise Lingo
Now…even I need to recap my cruise lingo before I go on a cruise, and you do too! This ship not only gives you all the different phrases you need to know…but also gives you the correct pronunciation! There is nothing worse than pronouncing something wrong on cruise…as I experienced…but that’s for another post! Plus…you’ll be a bit hit with the locals if you can use the right words and etiquette!
